Book Marks at Open House this Saturday

Here is something seriously cute that we are making at my Open House this Saturday. If you are able to make it please RSVP.

Isn’t he just the cutest thing ever?? It’a bookmark that folds over your page. The bookmark is made using the Two Tags die for the Big Shot but you first fold a piece of paper in half and then place it on the die so that you don’t cut the top of the book mark. It’s kind of hard to explain, much easier to see in person. So come on by the Open House this saturday and I can show you!!

The Owl is the new Owl punch and I LOVE him! Honestly at first I thought “oh, this is going to be so fiddly” but he’s not at all! He’s really easy to assemble. I have also incorporated a few of our new colours with this project, Crumb Cake (formerly Kraft), Cherry Cobble & Early Espresso. And the tummy on the Owl is our returning in colour Baja Breeze!

Here’s a picture of him in a book doing his job! Don’t you just want to make one of these??? These little book marks make the best presents for Teachers, Grand-parents, kids, really anyone who loves to read, and still reads REAL books, not the digital kind (I have to admit I am a digital convert……… I love my new Kobo!!). But I still have some real books, like cookbooks, and this is a reference book on Direct Selling that I am reading. So these bookmarks coming in super handy even for me!

RSVP for my Open House this Saturday and learn how to make these super quick, super easy gifts!

I’m back & a donation today!

Sorry about the long hiatus!! First we went camping for a week with my sister from Pennsylvania and her family, and some friends of ours to Owen Sound and Tobermory, Ontario. If you haven’t been to those area’s before you must check them out. I will post some pictures in the next few days. After that my daughter got back from camp and then my husband and I flew out to the East Coast for a mini vacation and 5th Anniversary celebration. We went to Grand Manan, New Brunswick. Now, most of you will not have heard of it. It’s a small island in the Bay of Fundy off the coast of Maine & New Brunswick. You have a to take a 1 1/2 ferry from Blacks Harbour, New Brunswick just to get there! It has to be one of the most beautiful places on earth. I will post some pictures from that trip two in the next few days.

Let’s move on to today’s posting. Today I present to you a donation to the D.A.D Project. The D.A.D (Drawing a Day) Project is the brain child of two sisters, Serena & Emily. It is an ongoing, online, art-based fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society, the largest national charitable funder of cancer research in Canada. Each day one of the sisters posts an original drawing they have done, and then they make that item available as a print in their etsy shop. Each friday they feature a different artist and I am honoured that today they are featuring a item made by me!

I have donated this beautiful Artistic Etchings Card Folder & card set with all proceeds going to the Canadian Cancer Society. The folder contains 2 handmade cards (blank with no sentiment) and 4 handmade notecards, blank with stamped images. The folder is also handmade and all materials are Stampin’ Up!.

Head over to their blog to find out more or to purchase this one of a kind gift for only $20 plus shipping and handling.

Tomorrow I will be at the Aberfoyle Fall Fair, so if you are in the area please stop by and say hi. I will be selling Rag Quilt bag kits, handmade cards, catalogues and will have a make n’take as well. Aberfoyle is located South of Guelph, Ontario. If you are interested in getting directions contact me for more information.

PPA Colour Challenge and a club post for this week

This week over at PPA (Pal Paper Arts) they are having a colour challenge. The colours are Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo and Basic Black.

It’s funny because this is a colour combo I noticed in the current catalogue and wanted to try out.

I actually put together this treat box last month for Caroline LeBel’s monthly team meeting, for a demonstration. And I my club girls will be making them this week as well!! The box is made using the Movers & shapers die and the full heart shape. I cased the idea from a Leadership display board I saw posted on someone’s blog. If you designed this box, let me know and I will make sure to give you credit! This was actually a very easy project. I can’t wait for my club girls to get a chance to try this one.

Speaking of club, want to make some fun projects, and get a chance at earning all the free hostess rewards?? Simply join me this week on either Thursday or Friday at 7pm and place a minimum $25 order (before tax and shipping), or if you can’t make it, place an order to be entered into the draw for the hostess goods!!

Please contact me ASAP if you are interested!

Countdown to Christmas Day 1

Welcome to DAY 1 of my countdown to Christmas where I will be featuring Christmas and Holiday projects from now until December 25th! Visit me daily for ideas and inspiration. Consider it your very own crafting Advent Calendar. For even more content sign-up to receive my newsletter (click the newsletter link on my blog).

I can’t believe that it is December already. And what do you know, but we were graced with a fine layer of snow on the ground this morning. It has all melted away now but I am sure it will be back again soon!

On the topic of Advent calendars, I thought I would share with you the Advent Calendar that I made for my children. There is a little box for each day under my little tree. Each box is labeled with a number and tied with a bow. Inside are all sorts of little goodies. Sometimes they get a little present of sorts (thanks to the Dollar store) or sometimes it is a goodie to eat! They just never know until they open it! As I kid I LOVED my advent calendar and it was just one of those cheesy chocolate ones. I know my KIDS adore this one!

And now I will leave you with a card idea. Don’t forget to send your Xmas cards soon. Here is the Canada Post Suggested mailing dates:

Club projects, and Santa’s Workshop

Hey All,

I just wanted to pop in quickly and share with you my projects for Club this week and give you a reminder about Santa’s Workshop.
I really appologize for the pictures, but one of the hazzards of living out of boxes, is that you don’t know where anything is, and I couldn’t find my camera last night. So once again I had to post an iPhone pic. Anyhow, we are only making 2 projects this month because they are a little more involved. The Technique this month is sponging. This tag was made almost entirly using the Big Shot. A piece of cardboard was cut out using the Top Note die, and the birds and flowers are from the Birds and Blooms sizlet dies. The ribbon used is the Sleigh Bells ribbon from the Mini. The sentiment is from the All Holidays set. The inspiration for this tag comes from Andrea Walford‘s blog from last Christmas.

The second project is all Blair. I have been wanting to make a snowglobe out of the treat cups since I first saw them. I however, packed my white glitter which was to be snow, so instead we stamped the snowflakes from the Hostess level 2 set called Holiday punches and them punched them out using the Boho Blossoms punch. This card uses a lot of stamp sets. The snowman is from the level 2 hostess set from the Holiday Mini, as well as the snowflakes on the Night of Navy piece. The Trees in the background are from Lovely as a Tree. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes. The base of the globe is from Sweet Centres. It is actually the ornament top but we cut off the hook part.

Anyhow, just a reminder about Santa’s Workshop this Sunday! 14 vendors, one stop Xmas shopping and chance to WIN a gift basket worth OVER $300!!! Hope to see you there.

Awesome 6 Card class on Sunday!

Hi Guys,

FINALLY!! The pictures of my AWESOME 6 card class. This is the first class of this kind that I have offered, but I have wanted to do one for some time.

When: Sunday, Oct. 18th at 1pm
Cost: $29

And not only will be be making 6 cards, all using the Merry Moments Designer Paper, but we will also be making an awesome card folder to put them in!!! What a great gift idea! Or keep it for yourself. I would have a hard time giving it away, it’s too awesome!! :)

I still have a few spots left, space is limited so contact me immediately! You don’t want to miss out.

Oh, and I almost forgot, the cost includes a pack of the Merry Moments Designer paper, that is used to make the cards and folder, but you get to keep ALL the left overs, and there are a ton!!!! You will be able to make bunch of cards with the rest.

Like what you see? Let me know, I would be happy to design more classes like these.

Technique Club day!!!

I know I have talked about how much I love and look forward to my Technique Club. It is just a fun group of women and I love their enthusiasm. If you would like to join one of my clubs, please let me know. You wont regret it! Not only do you get to come over to my place once a month to make awesome stuff, but you get to be the hostess one of the months and earn LOTS of free stuff! We have some great Hostess Promotions running right now, so why not join?

Here are the projects for this months club. Two of them feature sets from the Holiday Mini. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

The first card features the BEAUTIFUL serene snowflakes set and is also my entry in to this weeks Pal Paper Arts Challenge.

I wanted to see if Silver, gold & chocolate chip worked together and boy do they ever!! I ADORE this card! I wanted to experiment with some non-traditional colours. The main snowflake is heat embossed in Silver. The background snowflakes are stamped on Very Vanilla using Platinum Shimmer paint, Gold ink and Chocolate Chip. I have even used some Brushed gold paper for framing the sentiment and main snowflake. Oh and under the sentiment is a touch of Silver elastic cord.

This second card was inspired by this card by Kristen Kennedy. I love the colour combo. I changed it up a bit and substituted Melon Mambo for the Rose Red. I used the Patterned Pines Level 1 hostess set from the Mini as well as I created a little embellishment with the snowflake from the set and the Jumbo snowflake punch and a clear Rhinestone brad! I think it’s quite a beauty, I hope the girls like it too.

The last project is Halloween Treat pouch. It was one the first things I learnt to make with Stampin’ Up Products and probally the reason I became addicted. It is soooooo easy and can modified based on the paper and stamp set you use for almost any occassion, holiday or event! I hope the girls like making them!

Sorry that I don’t have the samples of this weekends 6 card class up yet, but I have been very busy working on something, that I can’t quite share with you yet. But I will say that it is a fun event of some kind in November……. stay tuned.

I’m back!!!! Miss me??

Sorry for the long absence, we have been going crazy around here! But my computer is fixed, and I am back!!

I thought I would finally post the pictures from September club projects! I have some what changed the format of my clubs and I am still looking for new members. Anyone who signs up to join my club (5 months remaining) will get a FREE classic ink pad of their choice! Let me know if you are interested. As always the monthly clubs are technique based and each month club members will make 2-3 projects and a technique card in a 6×6 page protector. It’s sort of like making and collecting trading cards!! :)
Here is our first one. The technique is Rock n’ Roll. If you click on the picture you will see that the decoration was stamped first in red and then the edges were rolled in chocolate chip to create a unique two toned image. FUN!

We made a Christmas card using this technique and the awesome Delightful Decorations set and the new Ornament punch from the Holiday Mini!

The card also uses some of the Merry Moments Designer Series paper. I love how this paper makes the ornaments look as though they are hanging in a Christmas tree!!
The ornaments were stamped using the Rock n’ Roll technique and then punched out with the Ornament punch. They were then “suspended” by the new silver elastic cord also from the Mini. At only $6.95 this item really packs a punch. It comes in either silver or gold and you get 25 yards of it! All of my Xmas presents will have tags attached with this stuff!

The second card we made was a Thanksgiving card. We used Stampin’ Write markers to colour the image in to achieve another multi-coloured look. The stamp is from the new Wandering Words set from, you guessed it, the Mini!!
The colour scheme for this card was inspired by the Autumn Traditions Designer Series paper and uses Elegant Eggplant, More Mustard, Ruby Red and Always Articoke. The More Mustard piece was dry embosed using the Texturz plate Perfect details and the Big Shot! This is a really simple card and the layout could be used for any type of card and any occasion. Just change up the stamp and the colours and voila! Infact you could do this for all the stamps in the Wandering words set! Oooooooh, I am going to have to try that!! :) I can picture them now! I want to go and play as soon as I am done this post!! LOL!

The last thing we made was a Halloween treat thingie (for lack of a better name) using the fabulous new Sweet Centres Stamp set and the Sweet Treat cups!

This set is awesome! And works for so many holidays! Halloween, Christmas, Valentines day, generic cards & it makes the sweet treat cup into a flower too! The cups themselves come 12 in a pack for only $3.95 and can be filled with almost anything! This same project could also be mounted on a lollipop stick! Cute eh?? LOVE it!

Hope you enjoyed these projects. If you did, why not concider joining one of my clubs? We always have a blast! And in one of the months, you get to be the hostess and earn a ton of free stuff!!

Speaking of Hostesses and the free stuff they can earn. Right now (until the end of November) all hostesses who’s workshop totals $330 or more can choose any item from the Holiday Mini Catalogue for only $14! (excludes the digital studio software). It can be anything, Big Shot dies, stamp sets, the new Simply adorned customizable charms, ANYTHING!!! Contact me today to book your own private class and earn your wishlist for FREE!!

Off to Algonquin Park for the weekend

Hi Everyone,

I am just giving everyone a heads up that I will away in Algonquin Provincial Park for the weekend at my Camp reunion. I went to Camp Tanamakoon from the age of 8 until I was in my mid-twenties and that’s the camp that my daughter Kieran goes to now. Well this year is the 85th Anniversary of the camp and the alumni like to celebrate by visiting the camp for a weekend of reminiscing and wishing we were kids at camp again. I am really excited because not only is my sister flying in from Newfoundland, Canada but I get to go with my two best friends from my camp days, one who lives in Ireland now. I can’t wait! And I am getting the opportunity to do a workshop up there as well. So I get to go to my favorite place and share my favorite hobby! FUN! Needless to say however, I will not be posting this weekend as I will not have cell phone or computer access while I am there and I didn’t get a chance to set up some postings before going as I have been packing tonight, and my sister arrives tomorrow night and she wants to visit some things in Toronto as she is only here for a short visit.

Tonight I want share with you a beautiful project using our Chipboard album and the Decor Stencils.

The great thing about our chipboard albums is that you can decorate them however you want! You can personalize them or make them suite any event or home decor.
