MDS for Paper Players #92

I am really enjoying using MDS to complete challenges.  It allows me to create something completely new, really fast without getting my hands dirty! LOL, I actually don’t mind getting my hands dirty.  I know I have been having fun in the studio when I come out of it with glitter everywhere and several colours of ink on my hands.  But today, I wanted to make something quickly.  This card took me 30 minutes to design.  And it uses the beautiful Summer Smooches too.
For this card I used mostly items from the Summer Smooches download (papers, stamps & fabric brads) but I also used a circle punch (to change the colour of the circle elements), The flower elements were from the sunny day embellishments and of course no card would be complete without ribbon.  For this one I layered Real Red Satin ribbon with Daffodil Delight taffeta ribbon.

Digital Scrapbook Layout for PPA133

I used to play along with Pals Paper Arts Challenges weekly, but I haven’t done so in a very very long time.  They had a sketch challenge this week, so I simple clicked on MDS to create my entry.  As soon as I started playing with the sketch I knew it was destined to become a scrapbook layout instead of a card.  Could have been because it was square, or maybe it was because I had some awesome new pictures of my kids and our new puppy that I was just dying to do something with.  I made a girly version for my daughter first.  Then all I had to do was swap out the paper, and voila! a boy version for my little guy.
Same exact layout, different results.  What do you think?  I love that once you have a layout in MDS, you can just swap out the options to suite your pictures, or your mood!

Sweet 16 in MDS

I had told you before that my Sister-in-law asked me if I would design my niece’s Sweet 16 invites.  Well, I did, and they arrived the other day.  So I thought you might like to see what I created.
I created this based on some invites that I had seen on the internet. Got to love Google.  I worked with a blank 5×7 postcard as the base and built it from there.  The original had a digital ribbon, but my SIL wanted to go with a real one, and I love the added texture it gives.  It’s nice to make a hybrid card.  They were really excited to get the invites the other day and loved the end product.  One of the really cool features of getting it printed through Stampin’ Up!’s print services is that the back can be printed too, oh and because we ordered more than 50 of these, the cost (including envelopes was only $2 per- before tax and shipping).  Here is a picture of the back.

Strength and Hope for Stampin’ Queens

I have been wanting to participate in my friend Cristena’s challenge Stampin’ Queens for some time, but time has been something I have been lacking………. Regardless I managed to carve some time out to whip up this Digital card using MDS, of course! This card was designed with a dear dear friend in mind, who unfortunately is fighting a losing battle with cancer.  My thoughts have been with her constantly and so, this card is dedicated to her.  I will make a paper version to take to her soon.

MDS for FREE?

MDS=My Digital Studio, aka: the coolest Digital Paper Crafting software known to man!  I could be biased, but I really am in love with this thing.  MDS isn’t just for Digital Scrapbooking either.  In fact I rarely use it for that.  You can of course use it for Scrapbooking, and it is AWESOME.  And then you can print your pages at home, or have them printed as photo books directly through Stampin’ Up!  But, you can also make cards, and calendars and I use it all the time to create graphics for my blog and other Websites I maintain.  I have even done a number of projects for a friends wedding that included signs, seating chart and Thank you picture/postcard.

Here is a quick little birth announcement I put together.  One of my team members is expecting and wanted me to show her how you could create a birth announcement in MDS.  So we started playing around.  This isn’t a real birth announcement, I “made up” the baby but I thought you might want to see what I came up with.

I honestly can’t begin to tell you how crazy easy it is to create with MDS.  This graphically simple Birth Announcement took minutes to make.  And I was working from a blank canvas.  MDS also has templates already created for you.  All you need to do is drop in your pictures and voila!
I could go on about MDS for hours.  Or, I could let you play around with it yourself.  I would like to offer you a 30 day MDS trial!  How fantastic is that?  Simply visit my Stampin’ Up! page and click Shop Now button.  Then navigate to Digital Designing and click 30-Day free trial.

Just one disclaimer however, this link will only work for Canadian Customers.  Not Canadian?  Visit Stampinup.com and select your Country, then search for a SU Demo in your area.

Oh and one last thing, every Tuesday is MDS day at Stampin’ Up!  Every week SU releases new MDS downloads.  Click here to view this weeks releases, then click here to buy them now.
